Eric grew up in and around Bakersfield. CA.  He is part of a Bakersfield farming family.  His father, Garry Richardson, is a peach grower in the Wheeler Ridge area south of Bakersfield.

Eric grew up watching racing at Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield.  He dreamed of the day he too could get behind the wheel.  In 2002, at the age of 16, he began his racing career at Mesa Marin.

That year he earned the Rookie of the Year award in the NASCAR Late Model Division.  Since 2002, he has continued his racing career at Mesa Marin and has also raced at Irwindale Speedway and the Las Vegas Bullring.

Eric has great asperations to continue and move up the NASCAR latter. While he is going to school full time at Chico University, major in AG buisness and minor in buisness admin.

  • 2005 - Eric won the Mesa Marin NASCAR Late Model Track Championship.  He also was the Mesa Marin October Classic Champion.
  • 2006 - Finished 12th in NASCAR Southwest division with 7 starts - 1 top five -2 top ten
  • 2007 - Finished 10th in NASCAR Grand National West division with 1 top five and 8 top ten
  • 2007 - Finished 11th at the Toyota All Sar Showdown
